DAMEON LESTER was born in Concord, North Carolina in 1973 and raised in Salem, Virginia. He received his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, in sculpture, where he studied abroad at Loughborough College of Art and Design in the UK and
Technikon Natal in South Africa.
He received his MFA from the University of Nevada in 2000, and in 2003, began attending Cal State LA, working towards his MA in
Special Education, while attaining his teaching credential. Dameon taught severely emotionally disturbed and physically disabled
teenagers in Los Angeles and Long Beach, CA.
He has most recently shown work in the 2010 OsCene juried exhibition at Laguna Art Museum and attended a month-long artist
residency at Vermont Studio Center. Dameon is employed at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and he currently lives
and has a studio in Long Beach, CA.
